The parable of the vineyard workers Matt 20:1-16


As I read this today, I am struck with a new thought that I really never saw before. The thought that the parable is not about placement at all, but that it is about the sovereign right of the master to do whatever he feels is right. In regards to first and last hired and their wage....it is not relevant, it’s about who the master is and the workers alignment to him. Think about the sending out of the disciples. They went out 2 by 2 and did miraculous things. All things were subject to them by the authority of Jesus and they were impressed by their “position of authority”.
