Replication

I have been wrestling and contemplating the concepts of type and shadow for a long time. This thought process has opened my eyes and heart to many things. The foundation of the process is that there is a Creator and Ultimate Being. That Being is God. God is the Ultimate Being before all things and all beings. His Word (Ex 3:14) says that He is “I AM THAT I AM”. He is before the beginning and after the end. He is All in All, the Everlasting King of all that is visible and all that is not. That being said, all things MUST point to Him, which is the concept I want to bring to the table here.

Types and shadows are pointers to Him. This is the worship of the visible world. All things look to God. This is their worship. They are tangible things that the visible universe can look at to “see” and “know” God. Scripture says that The Word, (which must be His Word) was with Him before the world was.

John 1:1-3 (KJV) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

The first type and shadow to consider is the very creation of the visible world. In the very first words of Genesis, God “speaks” a word and light pierces the darkness. What was once unseen is now seen and seeable. This is the type and shadow we “see” every day. We turn on lights to do most everything. We can’t “see in the dark” (and if we do, it’s because there is some light somewhere). The type and shadow being that all that is seen is seen because God spoke a word and said, “Let there be light”. Light is a type and shadow of God.

But enough of that, I think you get the idea. What I want to zero in on is the type and shadow of replication. Specifically reproduction. In this visible world, the process of reproduction is everywhere. It basically is a joint effort of two specific and individual “genders” coming together to reproduce another. We see this process in most every plant and animal.

The pondering I have been and am considering right now is the type and shadow of the actual relationship of humans in regards to reproduction. There are many avenues to travel here, but I am focusing on the “pleasure” aspect of that process. The opportunity of all type and shadow is to attribute all to God or to deny Him the glory, the purpose, and take it for one’s self. In that light, the type and shadow of the pleasure of reproduction in the physical realm is a taste of the revelation of the pleasure in the spiritual realm when the children of God are reproduced. All this to say, that I long to break free of this visible carnal reproductive type and shadow process that only gives a momentary “spurt” of pleasure to operate truly in the invisible spiritual reproductive “fountain” of everlasting pleasure that reproduces that which God has set in motion and calls LOVE. The fruit of The Spirit.

To operate in this revelation is the true worship of mankind. Operating primarily in the realm of producing the off-spring of God through spiritual relationship with the physical creation is the joy of living and eternal life. It is the very process of Christ when He sacrificed all that was tangible for that which is not. This the redemption of fallen mankind. The testimony of Holy Spirit-filled humanity that there is a loving God and an active work of His Will being done in earth as it is in heaven. The carnal seed of mankind, seeking its own pleasure, brings forth the fruit of hatred and death. Yet the holy seed of God, Jesus Christ, seeking everlasting joy for all of creation, brings forth the fruit of love and life by rejecting all that the physical world offers and allowing the holy work of God to triumph in glory for all to see.

So let that little bit of carnal pleasure be a testimony and reminder to you that this too “is holy ground”. This is the holy work and the intoxicating  pleasure in replicating the of children of God.
