Romans 4:7 (KJV) [Saying], Blessed [are] they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
Humanity has only one thing that it owns. Only one thing it can offer up. Sin.
All other things that mankind has have been given by God. Starting with the very existence of all things. The first man was created. But before humanity could live, it had to have a place to live. So God created. He created light to fill the darkness so that things could be seen. Sky, sun, moon and stars to spell out time and show the vastness of His creation. He created water and earth to support life. All plants and animals were created by God to populate the earth. All these things were created for humanity. Then out of the earth He had made, He Made man. Life was given to humanity. The breath of life was breathed into the lifeless form of Adam by and God the Creator, God the Father. From that, all things emanate. The heart beats, the breath goes in and out. Oxygen feeds the body as is moves from the atmosphere into the body thru lungs and blood. The man learns hunger and feeds the body from the creation of God. The digestive system breaks the food down into usable components to nourish and flushes the rest. The man experiences and learns. All things given by God. Nothing of of its own except its choice. The one thing man can give to God is obedience, but instead, it chooses rebellion. Disobedience. Instead of walking with God, he chooses to walk without God. Even away from God. So God gives man ownership of his choice. Humankind now has something of its own. Something that God did not give. This is the fall of humanity, this is the great sin... and we all own it.. Separation from God, and life without God is death....
But God! God, in His great love, sees, knows and understands our condition. He knows it was a bad choice, an affront to His goodness and care, His love for mankind. So He provides a way out. He reaches down from heaven in the form of Jesus The Son. God The Son. Jesus Christ The Redeeming One. The Word and Voice of God calling to His creation, His beloved Adam, to come back. God only asks one thing.....give Me your sin.
As time has gone on, humanity has colored sin in many ways. From one sin births many. Man has learned how to operate in this world (God’s creation) without relating to God. Man has learned how to sin perfectly. Against each other, against the creation and everything in it. Using everything and everyone for its individual purposes without regard for anything but itself. But still, God loves His creation. So, as a man He comes to do what no man has ever done. He comes to do what needed to be done from the beginning. He chooses to be with God....IN THE EARTH! Son of man, Son of God. If man can’t go back to God, God will come to get him.
But how? How does man get back to God? I see the train, I hear the conductor, but I can’t find the door! I need a ticket! Where do I get one?! Search your pockets. Go thru every one till you find it. It is there. It is your sin. Every man has it. Find yours. Then, all of a sudden, you realize that your pockets are full, stuffed with every sin imaginable! Liar, cheater, hater, meanness, full of lusts and pride, full of self. Tickets of every kind! But where is the one that gets me on this train?! Then BINGO! There it is! Rejecter of God! Sin in the first degree. The beginning of the end. The only ticket that gets you on the train. I run toward the train looking for a door, an entrance, The Way in. The voice of the conductor calls out. Is that my name?! Do I hear my name being called out?! “My sheep know My Voice”. I run toward the Voice shouting “Here I am! wait for me!” Then I see. A Door. Knocking wildly till the Door opens and The Conductor is standing there. The Alpha AND Omega, Beginning AND the end. Arms wide as if nailed to a tree. Calling my name. MY NAME!! FORGIVEN!
“Come unto Me, you who are weary laden (with sin), and I will give you rest (from all your striving to live, to live without God)”.
You have left the glory of your first home to taste the goodness of God’s creation without God in it. You demanded your inheritance and it was given. Demanded what was yours as if your Father was dead. But He is not. Your inheritance runs out, but your Father still lives. Return! That is the solution!! Maybe He will take me in to live in His care. Even as a servant, it’s better than life without His Presence and Provision. I have no other home than this. To be with my Father. He calls my name! “Today, if you will hear His Voice, harden not your heart”.
Catch the train, offer up your sin. This is your only offering. None other is truly yours. You have rejected God, but there is a divine transaction to be made. Make the trade. Your death for His life. Receive His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and receive a new life, a new birth. Being born again, not of flesh and blood but of spirit and truth. All creation groans awaiting the revealing of the sons of God. Your spirit groans.... hear it?
1 John 1:9 (KJV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Our sin is for one thing, for giving, …. to be forgiven. Present tense….for giving. Past tense….forgiven :)
Said and done. Finished and done. By The Blood and in The Name of Jesus.
