All Christian have the indwelling of Holy Spirit. It is part of the process and a promise of Christ.
John 16:7 (KJV) Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
So often I hear prayers that say something like, “Lord, let me do right”. It always hits me wrong. It’s not like He is “letting” you do anything. If He were to “let” YOU, you would lean into YOUR flesh. You would “do you”. He sent Holy Spirit to dwell in you so that your flesh would be under the subjection of Holy Spirit. Christ in you. What He asks for is obedience. But obedience is not an act of flesh, it is an act of faith! The Lord does not “let” your faith act. You do! This “letting” is an act of faith. Believing that “He Who is in you is greater than he who is in the world”. Believing that by the infilling of Christ, you are a child of God. Indwelt with Holy Spirit. You are just like Christ, “the Word made flesh”. So it’s not an issue of God “letting” you do His will. It’s a act of faith, believing that the fullness of Christ and Holy Spirit is in you and that you are an emissary, an ambassador, even the very presence of God, active and living in this earth. Not that you are God, but that He lives in you to do all things according to His perfect will. Read John 17.
Remember these things....
You are created by God, formed and fashioned in His image. Images are things seen. But God is not seen. You are a tabernacle, a dwelling place of God. The fullness of God lives in you. Father Son and Holy Spirit. You are seen by fleshly eyes as a fleshly body, but the eyes of the spirit see you as an heir of God. The dominant inhabiter of this world. You are more than a threat to all things that reject and rebel against the authority of God. You are more than a conqueror, you are the kings and priests of God. You are the children of God. When the fullness of God comes into you, you are adopted, heirs, receivers of the inheritance of all that The Father has for you.
So, when you pray, don’t pray for God to “let” you do anything, pray in belief. Believing that He is in you. Believing that He has empowered you by Holy Spirit dwelling in you. Pray your flesh to be subject to the Truth of God as written in scripture and in your heart. Allow Christ to live, move and have His being in you. Capture every and any thought that rises up contrary to that and allow Holy Spirit to exercise His power to glorify Christ in you for all the world to see. That you truly would be an image of God, seen by all the world, that they may see and know and believe. That they would too, be filled by the Word and made children of God. That is His will, that none should perish.
