Luke 10:27 (KJV)

Matthew 22:36-40 (KJV) 36 Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, the beginning of knowledge and the beginning of understanding. The fear of the Lord is synonymous with the love of the Lord. To fear Him is to love Him and visa versa. To fear the Lord is to recognize the need of Him and to fear what would happen without Him. With Him there are promises, future and hope. Without Him is none of these. The real fear is to be without Him and all that He is. Once that fear is realized and a desire FOR Him rises up, then wisdom begins. It is literally the smartest thing a man could do, to desire God and seek Him. This “fear” leads to knowledge and understanding. Not necessarily knowing and understanding God in the way humankind uses its mind to learn and utilize that knowledge for its own purposes, but knowing and understanding God in a relational way, aligning itself with God. Very similar to marriage where humankind is the bride and God is the groom (Rev 21:9). God did not create mankind for it to find its own purpose (because without God it has no purpose), but rather to fulfill His purpose. As in marriage, the purpose is two-fold, relationship and replication. So when you see the word “wisdom”, think of it only in these terms; desiring God, fearing His absence or turning away, seeking and looking for Him always, knowing and understanding all things in light of Him (shining the Light of His Word and Spirit into your heart, mind and every situation you find yourself in).
Christ is the Author and Finisher of our faith, He is the First and Last, the Beginning and End, the Alpha and Omega. He was there in and before the beginning of creation as we know it and He will be there in the end. He was with God and was God.
Job 28:28 (KJV)
And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that [is] wisdom; and to depart from evil [is] understanding.
Proverbs 2:6 (KJV)
For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth [cometh] knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 19:8 (KJV)
He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.
Proverbs 21:30 (KJV)
[There is] no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.
Proverbs 3:19 (KJV)
The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.
Proverbs 4:7 (KJV)
Wisdom [is] the principal thing; [therefore] get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
