Not MY will but THINE be done
MY WILL (what is not obvious here is that none of the following have any meaning without other people)
To live
To be important
To be happy
To be satisfied
To be healthy
To be secure
To be safe
THY WILL (what is obvious here is that it is God’s will for me to know and believe that He is everything I need and want (‘cause He is!))
I am alive
I am important
To be my happiness
To be my satisfaction
To keep me healthy
To be my security
To be my safety
My will is when I focus on anything and substitute it for what God has already willed and provided for me. Directly related to that is that the will and provision of God is also made available to others when it is received and allowed to fully function in my life.
Ways that I short-circuit God’s will in my life.
At the root: My will, not God’s. Self. The world, and all that is in it, revolves around me, is designed for me and is at my disposal for my personal enjoyment.
Covetousness....seeing with my physical eyes and desiring to have what others have. Not being content with what I already have. At its foundation, not understanding how and why I am. More importantly, not believing that it is God Who designed me and why. That everything required for me to live in this life and the next is already mine through Jesus Christ.

Sexual pleasure....this is a whole big mess. Believing that my bodily function of replication is for my pleasure and enjoyment rather than a Holy function for the building and continuation of the creation that God intends. It has physical and spiritual parallels. Operating in both planes at the same time. For God or against.

-self-gratification
Pride....believing that I am something of myself. Self-made. I am more important than others. What is not in focus here is that I think I know better than God which is really indicating that I believe I am more important than God.

1 John 2:15-17 (KJV) 15 Love not the world, neither the things [that are] in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
