Hope

Hope is a high and holy spirit. It is a member in the family of faith, thus being a spirit of holiness. As in all things, hope, like faith can be misplaced and like spirit misused, resulting in unholiness. That is not the discussion here. The high holiness of hope is in the focus of faith and spirit it is founded in. The ultimate hope is in deliverance from the tangible entrapment of this visible natural finite being into the freedom and glory of the supernatural invisible eternal being and with all that abide there. To be clear, hope is in God and the deliverance from this temporary life thru the process and example of Christ coupled with the infilling of His Holy Spirit to those who believe (faith).

In this finite reality, hope is reduced to the possibility of a favorable outcome within the finite parameters of time, materials and abilities of finite characteristics and characters. But it is only a parallel, a shadow, a picture.

This finite hope is characteristically flawed when it is not grounded in the faith in God.

Holy hope is founded in the character of an Unchanging, Infinite, Eternal and Loving God. This is His glory. A continual fountain of love and creation endlessly increasing in magnificence and wonder. A never-ending fulfillment of the created by The Creator. Hope fueled by faith. Hope is faith in what is not seen as if it has already come to pass.

In my opinion, hope that is not undergirded in the knowledge of and faith in God is not hope, it is a mistake. Hope properly grasped and applied, rooted and grounded in God and every characteristic of Him, transcends the finite and taps into the infinite thereby bending the physical to bow before the spiritual.

Hebrews 11:1&2 (KJV) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
