True Satisfaction

You have chosen your satisfaction from this world not from God. In this you know that the heart is exceedingly wicked. It has deceived you and pointed you away from the good God that has not only promised to satisfy your deepest longing, but has actually done it in Christ Jesus, Who in a graphic display of contempt for the ability of the world offerings of satisfaction, even of the promise of life in it, gave up the world and life in it to receive His satisfaction and even fulfillment from His and our Father in heaven. Yet, even this facet of the sacrifice made only reveals a smaller portion of the greater work. The greater work is God’s design for an everlasting relationship between Him and His creation.
